Desire to Inspire

Youth Making a Difference is a one-day conference hosted by ACCESS that aims to educate, empower and inspire local youth. Students are given the opportunity to discover their own passion for social change and transform it into positive action. The theme of this year’s conference is “Desire to Inspire”.

The event aims to to work as a catalyst by providing inspiration for students to discover their passion, and tools to turn their ideas into action plans. A key feature of this year’s conference involves SoJo, an online collection of tools and informational resources to inspire and empower youth to transform their ideas for social change into reality.

Youth Making a Difference promises to be an exciting day of inspiring workshops, performances and presentations. Students will engage in workshops on discovering their own leadership skills and will have the chance to network with community organizations.

Featured youth speakers will include Abid Virani of I Have Hope as well as ACCESS Founder Daniel Francavilla, DPCDSB Student Trustee Aian Binlayo and Miss India Canada 2011, Akhina Mooken.

The conference is open to high school students in the Region of Peel who register online through their schools or community organizations.
